On the weekend of July 29th and 30th 2017 the annual Cumbria Steam gathering will be taking place at Cark Airfield in Flookburgh, near Grange over Sands.
The Cumbria Steam & Vintage Vehicle Society Ltd have been organising this event and it is now in its 44th year. The gathering brings together excitement of noisy steam engines along with vintage commercial vehicles, classic cars and motorcycles, military vehicles and even pedal bikes. Along with the pull of so many steam engines being in one place, the other major exhibits are farm and agricultural machinery with Flookburgh’s rural location and the Cumbrian farming industry as a whole. Visitors come from all over the country to see this large and very unique vehicle and steam show.
This year look forward to a very special exhibit, two of Barry Sheene`s world championship winning Suzuki RG500 motorcycles. Also this year there will be an extreme Moto Cross display by Broke FMX, the Pantoni All Stars Orchestra, the Morecambe Bay Archers and the all action North West Lawn Mower Racing Association.
Food and beverage stalls will be plentiful too both to keep you going during the weekend as well as local food producers selling goods to take home. Music and various other forms of entertainment will be held during the weekend and all the information can be found on the Steam gather website here http://www.steamgathering.org.uk/
